Pandemic of Love
COMING TO YOUR FAVORITE BOOKSTORE, DIGITAL READER AND TO AUDIO BOOK IN THE FALL OF 2021!
My debut book, from New World Library, “Sit Down to Rise Up.” It’s all about how our inner journey requires us to look outside of ourselves and bears a responsibility for us to heal and support our communities. It’s a roadmap to expanding our heart-centered circles of influence and an appeal to build movements.
If I’ve learned one thing in both business and social activism, it’s that self-care is critical to staying engaged. Fighting for an important cause, or, even just fighting to get through one of life’s tougher periods, can take a toll on us.
We can feel exhausted, hopeless, fed up, angry. Sometimes it feels like every step forward is followed by two steps backward. I get it. I’ve been there.
“Sit Down to Rise Up” is a glimpse into my journey and how I learned to value the importance of self-care and how I learned that self-care is not an individualistic pursuit at all – it’s a community-wide effort that is required if we’re going to lead change, drive justice, and create movements.
we better be equipped mentally and physically to handle the pendulum swings that are sure to come.
This book is part memoir, part manifesto. However, it’s primarily a practical guide to building your own self-care practice and using mindfulness and meditation to fuel your personal passion for life and the causes near and dear to you.
I’m very proud of it and I hope you’ll pick up a copy next year!
